I started my mountain journey from GGB train station (Gornergratbahn) in Zermatt. The train climbed high above the village, providing spectacular view of the Matterhorn to my right.

After some time, I arrived at Gornergrat, which has one of the best vantage point above the valley floor. Snow-capped peaks are everywhere, including the ever-prominent Matterhorn and Dufourspitze (the highest peak in Switzerland at 4,634m). At Rotenboden nearby, I rented out a toboggan. I sledded down from Rotenboden (2,815m) to Riffelberg some hundreds of meter below. To be honest, the tobogganing experience was a subtle mixture of scary and fun.

I got out of my toboggan at Riffleberg train station, took a short train ride to Furi where a huge cable car brought me to Klein Matterhorn (3,885m) via Trockener Steg. At Klein Matterhorn, I could view the majestic peak a lot closer. There is a decent café at the top I stopped by to enjoy a hot cup of cocoa while enjoying the beauty.
